We benefited from working in small groups of four and the main goal for all of us, before drawing, was to quiet our minds, eliminate distraction, and begin to open ourselves up to the visual world. We began with two free-writing activities aimed at becoming more aware and able to describe our environment. We will be re-visiting this theme throughout the year as we look to become more patient and open to our surrounding, helping us build a foundation for developing artistic skills.
